Okay, so you’ve got 24 hours in Sayulita, Nayrit, Mexico. What are you going to do?
In this guide, I’m going to go over everything that you can do within a 24 hour period and then some.
Where to stay in Sayulita
Off the top you’re probably wondering where to stay. There is a lot of different options. Right now I’m at Selina. Selina is a hostel chain but you can rent your own room. I like it because there’s a lot of other travelers in the area and everybody’s up for for something to do.
There’s also Viajero. It’s another up and coming hostel chain and they have them all over Latin America.
If you’re not wanting to stay in a hostel, I looked at Airbnbs as well. The hostels were a cheaper option and a lot more people around, so that’s why I picked it. But if you’re looking for Airbnbs, there’s plenty.
There are so many boutique hotels, in Sayulita. There’s a boutique hotel literally right across the street from the Selina.
Punta Mita St. Regis & Four Seasons
If you’re looking for something higher end, not far is Punta Mita. Punta Mita has the St. Regis, it has the Four Seasons. It’s all in a luxury gated community. It has a golf course and it’s quite high end. There is also some amazing surfing around that area.
Next, you’ve figure out where your going to stay and you wake up in the morning, you’re wondering where do I get the best coffee?
I go to Coffee Brothers. You got to kind of go into the back and then it’s a super cool vibe.
Sayulita Gym
Next, you’re probably wanting to go to the gym. So I did some hunting on the fitness side of things because I like to work out in the morning. I found Sayulita Fit. It’s about a 10 to 15 minute walk right from city center of Sayulita and it’s awesome.
It’s just like working out at home. They have all the amenities that you could possibly want. Pretty new equipment and it’s very clean inside. Price was 500 pesos for three days and it just goes up from there. But I only needed three days.
Next, you’re probably wondering where to eat. These choices were recommended to me by many, many people.
Sayulita Breakfast
After the gym I wanted a protein shake mixed with fruit and vegetables and I really, really like acai bowls and other things that are super healthy.
So they recommended to me OrganK It’s spelled organ with a K on the end.
So it’s organ K but it’s pronounced “Organica.” It’s kind of tricky to find when you’re coming from town because as soon as you get over the bridge, there’s a whole bunch of tropical plants. It’s basically in there with a bit of searching. So it’s your first right and you’re right there.
But if you’re coming from the gym, it’s pretty easy to find. It’s the last building before the bridge.
Sayulita Lunch
Next, you’re probably looking for lunch. Lunch was recommended to me by a
real estate agent named Ann Stranges. It is basically a staple when it comes to tacos.
Welcome to Gabby’s tacos. Pretty easy to find. When you’re going into the city. There’s a guy on the corner just hooting and hollering and he’s always promoting Gabby’s tacos. It’s literally right to the left of him. It’s just like a little kind of hut on the side. Superb and not too expensive.
Sayulita Dinner
Now it’s coming to dinner time. So not far from there is Alto. Alto.
The translation is Literally like “Top Top”. It’s a rooftop patio kind of overlooking a bunch of things and superb food and drinks. The price point is a little high, but you get what you pay for.
If you’re looking for some other food choices, there’s Choco Banana. It is a staple. Can’t miss it and have to visit while you’re in sayulita. They’re known for a banana covered in chocolate and nuts.
But they have so many options when it comes to breakfast, lunch and dinner and the prices aren’t that bad.
Sayulita Nightlife
Now if you’re wanting to find some beers and go out with some friends, I’d recommend YAMBAK – Y A M B A K.
It’s like a beer house and then at nighttime they had DJs and it’s open air and it’s awesome. There’s also a nightclub right across the street and a nightclub right above it.
Things to do in Sayulita
Now If you’re looking for things to do, there’s no shortage. Me personally, I wanted something free. So I did a 25 minute hike and I went to basically a secluded beach. I was the only one on the beach. It was beautiful. For sunset.
It’s called Playa Caracasos or Kerasitos. I don’t know if I’m pronouncing that correctly.
If you don’t want to walk 25 minutes in the heat, I totally get it. There’s another hike that’s about 10 minutes away from the city center of Sayulita called Playa Los Muertos. It’s amazing for snorkeling and it’s a white sand beach, crystal clear water.
I also walked the beach to the Northern Beaches. It was about an hour walk. There is a trail just past the House, so go in front of it. Now be very careful, it’s a long ways down into the ocean.
If you walk for about 10 minutes you come out on the other side. Well worth the walk. No one around and took some very cool drone shots. I will post them on my Instagram HERE
Now If you’re looking to get around, you can rent many golf carts, scooters or even ATVs around the city center.
Sayulita Real Estate
If you’re looking to get into real estate. I connected with my friend Ann Stranges and she showed me three different properties For those videos they are right HERE.
Another tidbit is a lot of people were asking me where to watch the hockey game and not far from the Selina is the Sayulita Burger company.
They’ve basically got so many different screens and they’re streaming football, baseball, basketball and even hockey.
So there you have it, in 24 hours and then some. You have tons to do in Sayulita, Mexico
